KEITH BADMAN is a noted author and has published several, twelve in total, bestselling books such as The Beatles After The Break-Up (1999), The Beatles Off The Record (2000), The Beatles The Dream Is Over (2001), The Rolling Stones Good Times Bad Times (1997), The Beach Boys –The Definitive Diary (2004, endorsed by Brian Wilson) and Marilyn Monroe, The Final Years (2012), many of which reached the No.1 position on book charts around the world, notably the UK, Europe, America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The film rights to his book, Marilyn Monroe, The Final Years were acquired by Seven Seas Films in 2017 and this is currently being developed into an American TV series by 101 Studios in Los Angeles. It is the first drama ever to have been approved by the actor’s Estate. 

 

Keith's debut in the Film & Television world came in November 1991 when he was asked to carry out archive research on the official, six-part, Apple Corps series, The Beatles’ Anthology. Similar roles soon followed.

 

In 1994, he was handed his first television series and was asked to conduct this task in the Granada / Channel 4 series, My Generation, which focused on classic British bands from the 1960s such as, The Kinks, The Animals, The Yardbirds and the Small Faces. Further UK TV credits (in the 1990s) included, Marc Bolan, Dandy In The Underworld (Granada / Channel 4, September 1997), The 100 Greatest No.1 Hit Singles (Yorkshire TV / Channel 4, 1999), The 100 Greatest Ever Pop Videos (Yorkshire TV / Channel 4, 1999) and It’s Slade! (the Official documentary on the band, screened by BBC1 over Christmas 1999).

 

In the 2000s, Keith carried out more archive research on programmes such as, Rod Stewart, Wine, Women and Song (Official documentary on the singer, BBC1, May 2001), Who Killed The Rolling Stone? (Channel 4 / DoubleBand Films, July 2005), Raiders Of The Lost Archive (Yorkshire ITV, 2007), The Who: Quadrophenia - Can You See The Real Me? (Who Films / Globe / BBC, 2012), Sharon Osbourne Presents Rock N Roll’s Dodgiest Deals (BBC Four, May 2017), It Was 50 Years Ago Today: The Beatles, Sgt Pepper & Beyond (A Geezer & A Blonde Production, June, 2017), The Beatles - Made on Merseyside (Odeon Entertainment documentary, March 2019).

Elvis - The Man Who Shook Up The World (ITN for Channel 5, December 2020) and Dads Army - Secret Lives & Scandals (ITN Productions for Channel 5, August 2021).

 

He has since progressed from being an Archive Researcher to that of an Archive Producer. In-between times, in 2004, Keith proudly began his long association with the Rock legends, Queen and has regularly contributed to many of their releases, most notably, Queen On Fire- Live At The Bowl (in October that year), A Night At The Opera (30th Anniversary release, November 2005), Rock Montreal & Live Aid (October 2007), Days Of Our Lives (BBC2, two- parts, 29 / 30 May, 2011), Freddie Mercury - The Great Pretender (Freddie Mercury Estate/ Eagle Rock, October 2012), Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest (QPL/ Eagle Rock, November 2012), Queen: Rock The World (BBC Four, November 2017), The Show Must Go On - The Queen & Adam Lambert Story (which premiered on ABC TV in America on 29 April 2019, and in the UK on Netflix on 20 July, 2020), Queen: The Greatest (the 50-part, YouTube series on the groups Official Channel which premiered on 19 March 2021), Freddie Mercury- The Final Act (which premiered on BBC2 on 27 November, 2021), and Queen: The Greatest Live! (the Official, weekly YouTube series which ran on the group’s channel between 2023 and 2024).

 

Keith has also contributed to American-made productions such as Badfinger – Behind- The - Music (VH1, 2000), My Dinner With Jimi (Rhino Films, February 2003), The Hollies: Look Through Any Window 1963 - 1975 (Reeling In The Years, 2011) and Scandalous - The Death of Marilyn Monroe (Fox Nation, August 2019, where he was both a consultant and interviewee on the 3-part series).

 

In 2023, Keith completed work on two new television series’, Elvis’s Women (Renowned Films for Amazon UK, RTL in Germany and CBS / Paramount in the States, which premiered in May 2023) and John Lennon: Borrowed Time (A Geezer A Blonde Productions), which is set for release in early 2025. Keith is also a FOCAL International, Award-Nominated archive footage researcher, for his work on the 2011 documentary, Queen: Days Of Their Lives. And in 2022, as part of Rogan Productions, he and the team received three important recognitions for the documentary, Freddie Mercury - The Final Act; winner at both the EMMY’s and Rose d’Or and runner-up at the BAFTAs.

Keith’s, acclaim is reflected in prestigious accolades, which also includes FOCAL and Grammy Award nominations.

In 2021, Keith, along with writing partner, Peter O’Brien, began work on his first, of four, screenplays, the first of these is If Tomorrow Never Knows, a full-length, supernatural story, about a girl and her involvement with John Lennon in the final months of his life.

Known for their long-standing collaboration, Keith and Peter have consistently pushed boundaries in the realms of film and television, earning international acclaim for their exceptional storytelling and production quality.

When The Fabs Met The King. On the starlit evening of August 27th, 1965, legends of music, Elvis Presley and The Beatles, met for the first and only time. This singular encounter is now vividly captured for the first time, in this Sapphire Cinema dramatisation.

​

Others in the pipeline include the supernatural stories, A Date with Terror, as well as others focusing on the lives of comedians, Laurel & Hardy and the notorious gangster Curtis Warren.
